My Health Pays Rewards Program

I have been looking at health plans before the end of the year, and I am considering Ambetter. They offer a My Health Pays rewards program where you earn money for completing certain activities. They claim you can earn up to 500 dollars, but in their list that breaks down the ways you can earn, it only adds up to $250. Responses and general feedback are appreciated.

Based on my research, the My Health Pays rewards program appears to be a wellness initiative offered by some health insurance providers. The goal is to incentivize healthy behaviours and activities by allowing members to earn points or rewards that can be redeemed for gift cards, merchandise, or reduced insurance premiums. Typically, members can earn points by completing tasks like getting an annual physical, participating in health coaching, tracking fitness activities, or taking health assessments. The number of points earned corresponds to the value of the reward. Some programs also offer bonus points for achieving certain health goals or milestones. While the specific details vary by insurance provider, the general premise is to encourage preventive care and lifestyle improvements that can lead to better health outcomes. By rewarding positive behaviours, the My Health Pays program aims to empower members to take a more active role in managing their well-being. If offered by my insurance plan, I would look into participating to potentially earn valuable rewards for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Are you talking about a “flex card” for a health plan or an HSA, or anything similar? If so, not at all. These funds are only available for approved medical and dental costs.

Best wishes with Ambetter. It’s really frustrating. Their health portal is just as tricky to navigate as their entire system. This year, I diligently completed all the tasks; vaccination, preventive visits, walks, those endless videos, answering questions, you name it. And what did I get? $25. I called numerous times to complain, and each time they assured me the points would post automatically. Yet, after many calls, no points ever showed up. So, I finally gave up.

I adore it. I utilize my money. Thus far this year, I have earned $400.

It has actually improved since its launch. To make the most of it, you need to stay updated and check daily for new challenges and power-ups to boost your points. Initially, I received a $250 card, usable only at Walmart or copays. Now, they’ve transitioned to a point system where you can redeem points for various rewards. This change isn’t bad; some rewards like Apple products and kitchenware are highly valued. The key is to accumulate points without spending them, aiming for higher-value items. The quickest way to earn a large number of points is by visiting your primary doctor or a specialist, which automatically gives you 500 points per visit. I’m just 33 points away from getting Apple Airpods; so close.

Ok, I have Ambetter, and I’ve noticed they advertise a gym reimbursement of around $20 per month. Have you heard about this? I’ve been getting mixed messages from them, so any insights would be appreciated.

Wow, I’ve moved on to Oscar. Regretfully, my plan with Ambetter became too costly. That seems fantastic, and I would absolutely research it more.
