I just found out how bad insurance can get. I needed an EKG to see if I could take two medicines and Humana paid nothing. They say they paid but my secondary insurance also paid nothing. When I checked the claim page, Humana’s part was zero. Anyone know why they would lie like this?
Did your EOB say why they didn’t pay anything? Could it be your copay, coinsurance, or deductible that wasn’t met yet?
If the claim went to your deductible, the payment could show as zero but still count as paid. It wouldn’t be denied, just applied to the deductible because that’s part of how most plans work.
Did you check your benefits? Sometimes the EOB shows the breakdown better. Upload it and see what it says.
I had something like this happen before. Turned out they said it applied to deductible even though I thought it should have been covered. Took a few calls to clear up.

Yeah, I think sometimes they just default to that. It’s not political, just how insurance works most of the time.
