My husband got a quote from his employer for $890 includes medical, dental, vision. It’s a PPO plan with Aetna (Meridian)
We have a family of 5. Is this normal or average amount?

My husband gets his covered 100% by where he works. To add me (just me), it’s a little over $1,000 a month. But no deductible, really amazing plan with great benefits.
That sounds about right for family coverage.
We pay around $180.00 a month for the family through my husband’s work.
That sounds reasonable. What are the deductible, out-of-pocket caps, and co-insurance/co-payments? Knowing those will help you estimate your total medical costs for the next year, including premiums and expected expenses based on your anticipated medical needs.
That sounds about right for a family plan. Here, it’s $660 per month for a high-deductible PPO family plan through my employer, plus an HSA. Or $1,100 per month for a low-deductible plan with Aetna.
That’s honestly not bad. Usually with employer plans, it’s family so it doesn’t matter if it’s 1 child or 5 children. It would be the same.
My company covers non-dental and puts $1,000 a year into an HSA for our HDHP. Dental insurance costs $35 per paycheck, paid twice a month.
However, they only cover the costs if we complete all our preventative visits for the year. If not, the insurance would cost between $260 and $300 a month for health and vision.
Depends on deductibles
