How do I get my UHS health insurance card at Penn State?

I recently enrolled in SHIP at Penn State and heard that I’ll need a UHS health insurance card. Does anyone know how to get it and if it’s something I need to pick up or download?

Once you’re enrolled in SHIP, you can download your health insurance card through the UHS portal. Log in with your Penn State credentials, and it should be available under your insurance details.

Thanks. Is it digital only, or do they send a physical card too?

They usually provide a digital version you can print if needed. You can also request a physical card through the portal or by contacting their office.

Don’t forget to carry it with you, especially for off-campus services. Some providers might ask for it even if they’re in-network.

Good tip. Do I need it for University Health Services too?

Not necessarily. At UHS, they can look up your details, but it’s always better to have it just in case.
