I’m exploring the UnitedHealthcare Community Plan for Medicaid and wondering if anyone here has experience with it. How’s the coverage, and are there any tips or things I should watch out for?
Would love to hear your thoughts or any personal stories!
NEVER get Medicaid from these shady individuals. Their list of approved providers is inaccurate, so you’ll have to contact more than ten doctors since none of them will take Medicaid. I’ve informed the AG’s office in my state about them. And don’t expect Member Services to assist you—their personnel told me they couldn’t obtain any relief from the bait and switch because they were also on Medicaid.
Nor should you expect them to reimburse your doctors for their services. Every claim is rejected; after that, an alarming EOB is sent, which is later challenged; your doctor receives 12 cents on the dollar. This has already resulted in my dismissal from a doctor’s office.
UHC is the absolute worst company I have ever worked for! I’m going to pay more to join my husband’s BCBS plan during the next open enrollment period rather than spend another dollar with UHC. They never offer you a straightforward response. If you ask the identical question to ten associates, you will receive ten different responses. They do not keep their promises or return phone calls. They will refuse any surgery that costs money, instead relying on tablets and painkillers because they are less expensive. They will refer you to someone they claim is in network, only to refuse your claim a month later. It is criminal what they do and how they treat others!
