Anyone know good stuff for super dry skin? Help please…

I’ve had dry skin for as long as I can remember (since I was 8 or 9) and it’s mainly on my legs. My arms are fine, but from the knees down, my skin is super dry and often gets irritated and rashy. I’ve tried moisturizing every day with Vaseline body lotion, but it doesn’t seem to make a difference. I want to really fix this because I feel so self-conscious about my legs. I’m guessing because I let it go for so long, it’s harder to deal with now. If anyone has found something that works, please share!

Thanks so much <3

Anything with oatmeal is a lifesaver for dry skin! I love Aveeno’s calming oatmeal moisturizer, and First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Oatmeal is great too (but it’s a bit pricier and harder to find). Start with Aveeno if you can.

Another tip: try a light oil like Neutrogena’s, let it sink in, and then add the lotion.

Hope this helps, good luck!

Thank you so much!! I’ll try it and let you know if it works for me <3 T-T

You’re very welcome! Yes, let me know how it goes :sparkling_heart:

Here are some recommendations:

  • Cleansers: CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser, Aveeno Skin Relief Body Wash
  • Moisturizers: CeraVe Moisturizing Cream, Eucerin Advanced Repair Cream, La Roche-Posay Lipikar Balm AP+
  • Ointments: Aquaphor Healing Ointment, petroleum jelly
  • Body Oils: Bio-Oil Skincare Oil, Neutrogena Body Oil (quick-absorbing, long-lasting moisture)
  • Extra Hydrating Treatments: Eucerin Aquaphor Repair Paste, Aveeno Eczema Therapy Itch Relief Balm (it’s hydrating even if you don’t have eczema)

Tip: Put on moisturizer right after you shower while your skin’s damp to lock in the moisture.

Hope some of these help you!

@Jaden
Thank you so much!! I used CeraVe for a while but I ran out and it’s hard to find here. When I do find it, it’s super expensive… but thanks a ton for the recommendations and tips, I’ll try them out <3

For body moisturizer, I’d say go for Eucerin original cream (the one in the tub). It’s thicker and great for keeping moisture in! Sometimes I layer it over something hydrating.

Aquaphor is also a solid choice.

I haven’t heard of that one… I’ll give it a shot and keep you posted. Thanks a lot for the suggestion <33
