Urgent care doctor charged me Twice

I recently went to a urgent care clinic to get a check up . My 1st visit The clerk said it would cost 150 , I said okay. The physician requested a blood test to be done . I paid the $150 and went to get the blood test. Couple days later (2nd visit) I came back with the blood test and I got diagnosed with a condition and the doctor gave me a prescription for meds to start on a treatment plan (which i ended up not doing). This time I asked the clerk how much owe and he said $100 , I paid . But what I don’t understand is why did I get another bill a month later for the same for my 2nd visit for $150???

I do not have insurance I paid out of pocket. I feel like I am getting scammed.

It’s customary to be billed per date of service. Is this urgent care independent or owned in part by a hospital? Charity care might apply

I’m not sure , it’s like a local clinic in area. I would guess it’s independent.

They charge you for coming back and visiting with the doctor to get your results.

Why didn’t they just charge me when I paid the $100 at the counter? Why send a bill by mail a month later? It feels suspicious, and I’m not used to this kind of billing process.

If you were only billed for an office visit, they might have forgotten to apply your self-pay discount. Uninsured patients usually get a discount on provider fees. Call and ask why the bill is different from what they told you.

My guess is you paid for either the urgent care facility fee or the servicing provider and are being billed for the other now.
