No. Part D can be tricky it’s technically optional, but most older people will eventually need prescription drug coverage as they age. If you start coverage later, you’ll have to pay all the missed premiums as a lump sum before your coverage begins.
Shop around for a cheaper plan during Open Enrollment.
Once you have insurance, you can switch plans, but if you drop your coverage completely, you will face a penalty.
