I recently got covered by Kaiser Permanente through a new job I started in March. I tried to find in-network doctors through Trinet, but they directed me to Kaiser Permanente’s website. However, I couldn’t log in without a medical record number, which Kaiser provides.
So, I called my health advocate for help and ended up speaking with a woman who couldn’t even spell “Andrew.” She asked me ten irrelevant questions and was unable to help me find a doctor. She put me on hold and then returned to say, “It will take four business days to locate that doctor,” which was so absurd that I had to hang up to avoid saying something rude.
Finally, I called Kaiser Permanente directly. After speaking with one person and getting transferred to member services, I talked to someone even less helpful. She told me that a general physical is only covered if I am at home, and that I’m only covered for emergencies while in Tucson, Arizona.
When I pointed out how ridiculous this sounded, she had the audacity to say she didn’t think it was.
