Is accident insurance worth it?

Sup y’all, I have a HDHP with an HSA (which I max out annually) through my employer for my family (myself, my wife, and our two kids). My employer also offers accident insurance, but I never sign up for it because I figure the HSA is sufficient and we probably wouldn’t get our money’s worth from the accident insurance. We’re a healthy, young family, and besides getting sick a few times a year, we rarely have significant medical emergencies. I’m curious about other people’s opinions on accident insurance. Do you think it’s worth it?

The policy covers the costs associated with hospitalization, medical treatment, and necessary surgeries.
If the insured person experiences permanent or partial disabilities due to an accident, the policy provides coverage for related expenses.
In the unfortunate event of accidental death, the nominee receives compensation up to the sum insured.

Hi Kimberly,I advise you to take it on. because the little premium you pay is justified.

Indeed! Completely. I’ve had accident insurance via my company for as long as I can remember; it costs maybe $5 a month. Two of my three children suffered shattered ankles while participating in sports, necessitating numerous orthopedic consultations, x-rays, boots, etc. Without even making a claim, I received a payment for both children that paid all of the costs. They were more than happy to reimburse me; I had forgotten I even had this insurance. I will always have this inexpensive but valuable coverage.

Hello, yes an accident insurance is worth it , i would advise you take it. Accident insurance can serve as a financial cushion should the unexpected happen. It also helps complement disability insurance by allowing you to claim benefits even if your injuries do not keep you out of work.

Absolutely, without a doubt. I’ve always had accident insurance through my employer, and it’s only around $5 a month. With three kids, two of whom have suffered fractured ankles from sports activities, we’ve had numerous orthopedic appointments, x-rays, and necessary equipment like boots. Surprisingly, I received a check for both children that covered all expenses without even having to file a claim. I had forgotten I even had this insurance, and they were incredibly efficient in reimbursing me. I’ll always carry this inexpensive yet incredibly valuable coverage.

hello Kimberly, An accident insurance is very important considering the benefit of having a Financial Safety Net which can assist in covering medical bills, lost income, and additional expenses resulting from an accident, particularly when your health insurance falls short.
