Insurance won't cover medication,See details below 👇

So I just switched over to a new insurance company. I need a medicated shampoo. It used to be $0 under my old insurance… now its $125!! There’s no listed by my new insurance company, not even any "other therapeutic,

Where do I go from here? Contact my doctor and ask for other and see if those are covered? look for coupons like good rx? Does good rx even cover medicated shampoo? Do I call the insurance company- about what?

If you have any experience as to how to proceed about this, please help! It’s much appreciated!

I need more information. What’s your deductible? Could that be the reason for the higher price? Did your deductible change?

This is the most likely explanation.

Can you say the drug name and dosage? Will help with ideas.

You need to prove medical necessity to the new carrier if it was denied as not covered instead of applying to your deductible. The new carrier has its own criteria and won’t just take your word for it.

Contact the medicated shampoo company to see if they offer any discount programs; many companies do

Why won’t your insurance cover it? What did they tell you in the EOB?

Is it common to get an EOB for a prescription?

Yes, it will show how much was applied to the deductible, if any, and what the insurance discount was.
