Does anyone have UnitedHealthcare (UHC)? If so, are you able to get a gym reimbursement? I was told it was $20/month from select gyms, but each representative is telling me something different (that there is a program/there isn’t). If you are receiving one, please guide me on how to get it. Everyone is saying something different, so I just don’t know who to talk to. Thank you!
When they switched to UHC Rewards in July 2023, they began to phase out the regular gym memberships that they had previously offered as part of their regular health program. However, not every company offered the typical wellness programs, so you’ll need to find out from your HR staff which wellness plans they currently provide through UHC.
The gym memberships did, however, fully disappear.
UnitedHealthcare may offer free gym memberships depending on your specific plan but its not available to every client.
It appears that you are referring to OnePass. It functions more like a monthly fee for unlimited admission to several gyms than it does like a compensation. OnePass at uhc.com To see if you have access to this, you must log into your account. Call in and ask to talk with the department if you need more information; it has a dedicated line.
Hi Stephie, For members who are not on Medicare Advantage, UnitedHealthcare might offer different wellness incentives and programs depending on the specific health plan and employer group. These can include:
- Gym Membership Discounts: Some employer-sponsored plans offer discounts on gym memberships as part of their wellness benefits.
The typical gym memberships included in the standard wellness program were discontinued in July 2023 with the transition to UHC Rewards. Since not every company provided these standard plans, it’s advisable to consult your HR department about the current wellness offerings available through UHC.

When I had UnitedHealthcare (UHC), I also encountered confusion regarding gym reimbursements. Initially, I was told about a $20/month reimbursement for select gyms, but when I called to inquire and enroll, representatives gave conflicting information or claimed the program didn’t exist. Frustrated, I escalated my inquiry to a supervisor and asked for clarification in writing via email. Eventually, I discovered that while some UHC plans did offer gym reimbursements, the availability and terms varied widely depending on the specific plan and employer group.
My advice would be to persist in contacting UHC’s customer service, request to speak with a supervisor for clarity, and ask for any relevant documentation or policy details in writing to avoid further confusion.
