CIGNA Health insurance for expats. Has anyone had any experience with them?

Hey Folks,

According to online reviews, Cigna’s health insurance offerings may not be the best option for expats living in Thailand.

Some users have reported issues with denied claims or a lack of understanding about their coverage.

If you’re from Australia and living in Thailand, it may be worth considering a local Thai health insurance provider instead.

They may be more familiar with the unique needs of expats in the region.

Have you had any personal experience filing claims with Cigna while living in Thailand?

I would be interested to hear your opinion on their service and whether you would recommend them to other expats.

Hearing from someone with firsthand experience could help inform my decision.

Last month, I changed my health insurance from ACS to Cigna. I haven’t made any claims yet, but so far, Cigna hasn’t restricted me from using specific hospitals. The onboarding process was smooth and straightforward.

When I used Cigna in Thailand through a company policy, the doctor, Dr. Donna, spoke about it with a lot of respect, saying, “You have Cigna!” I never saw a bill; everything was handled directly between the doctor and Cigna. However, I had a different experience once when they rejected a claim for a full physical exam because they didn’t approve of one of the tests included in it.
