Hey everyone, I’m curious if anyone here has had success getting a prescription for Ozempic specifically for weight loss? I once tried a similar medication a few years back, but my doctor wasn’t too keen on it since it wasn’t primarily for weight loss. Now, I’ve been hearing a lot about Ozempic and how effective it can be, and I’m considering giving it a shot.
If you’ve managed to get it, how did you approach your doctor about it?
Chocolatier loses 105 pounds with Ozempic after struggling with weight all her life. Diets and bariatric surgery didn’t help, and she had an elevated A1C.
I want to try it again but the nausea. God I hated the nausea.
I do not think that it is possible to get Ozempic for weight loss and even if you succeed, I doubt that any insurance will willingly cover the medicine. The medicine is specifically a prescription for Diabetic patients

You’re accurate. Insurance frequently does not cover Ozempic for weight loss, even though some people may use it off-label for that purpose. Ozempic is primarily recommended for the management of type 2 diabetes. For information on weight management choices and specifics on insurance coverage, it is advisable to speak with a healthcare specialist.

Yes, there are alternatives for Ozempic though. I reckon that Wegovy is one of them but the prescription will only be given by doctors to patients diagnosed with Obesity or High cholesterol or a BMI above 27
